Service Warranty, Liability & Customer Responsibilities

1. Labor Warranty

Hey Smart Tech provides a limited labor warranty on installation work for [X days / 30 days / 90 days – choose your window] from the date of service.


This warranty covers:



  • Correcting installation-related issues that reasonably result from our workmanship (e.g., loose mounts, misconfigured settings we set up initially)


This warranty does not cover:

  • Manufacturer defects
  • Software or app changes by third parties
  • Internet outages or poor connectivity outside our control
  • Customer modifications after the install
  • Damage due to misuse, abuse, accidents, weather, or power surges


2. Hardware & Manufacturer Warranties

All devices, parts, and hardware are covered (if at all) by the manufacturer’s warranty, not by Hey Smart Tech.


We do not guarantee:

  • Lifespan of devices
  • Future app or cloud features
  • Ongoing compatibility between third-party products


3. Network & Internet Dependencies

Many smart home devices depend on:

  • Stable WiFi
  • Internet access
  • Cloud services

We are not responsible for:

  • Future network issues
  • Router changes
  • ISP outages
  • Customer changes to passwords or settings

We can provide additional paid support or tune-up services if you need help later.


4. Property Damage

We use reasonable care when drilling, mounting, and performing work. However, the following may occur:

  • Small holes in walls, ceilings, or trim
  • Minor scuffs or marks from tools or equipment

We are not responsible for:

  • Pre-existing damage
  • Hidden wiring/plumbing behind walls
  • Defective or weak surfaces (drywall, masonry, etc.)

If significant damage occurs directly due to our negligence, our liability is limited as described in the Terms of Service.


5. Customer Maintenance

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping passwords secure and updated
  • Updating apps, devices, and firmware as recommended
  • Monitoring system alerts and device health
  • Maintaining your home network and ISP relationship

If you change routers, ISPs, or major settings, devices may need to be reconfigured as a separate paid service.
